Difference between Diploma, Certificate, and Award...

The Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) is run by the government and provides a single, simple system for recording various qualifications. All qualifications on the RQF have an assigned credit value which reflects the size of the qualification.

  • Less than 12 credits are called ‘Awards’
  • Between 13-36 credits are called ‘Certificates’
  • More 37 credits are called ‘Diplomas’

ATHE also has a number of Extended Diplomas worth 120 credits to cater for those learners who wish to study for a more extended period of time.
